Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has continued its squad restructuring ahead of the new season, with four first-team players officially leaving the club by mutual agreement.
The Porcupine Warriors have confirmed that forward Kwame Poku, winger Elvis Kyei Baffour, left-back Francis Acquah, and goalkeeper Benjamin Twum will no longer be part of the club as both parties have agreed to end their respective contracts.
Among the departing quartet, Francis Acquah’s exit comes just a short time after joining the Kumasi-based giants from Bechem United
. Despite arriving with high expectations, the left-back’s stay at Kotoko proved brief, with the club and the player reaching a mutual decision to go their separate ways.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Twum has also concluded his time at the club after both sides agreed to terminate their association. His departure opens another chapter in Kotoko’s ongoing efforts to reshape their squad.
Kwame Poku and Elvis Kyei Baffour also leave the Reds after their spells with the club, bringing an end to their time in the famous red jersey.
The latest departures underline Asante Kotoko’s determination to rebuild and strengthen the squad as preparations continue for the upcoming campaign. The club is expected to make further additions to reinforce key areas before the season gets underway.
