The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has officially commissioned its new office in Navrongo in the Upper East Region as part of its ongoing nationwide expansion to bring essential vehicle and driver licensing services closer to citizens.
The commissioning forms part of a broader initiative by the Authority to establish five new offices across Northern Ghana, aimed at improving service delivery, reducing travel time for motorists, and enhancing road safety administration in underserved communities.
The new Navrongo office is expected to provide a full range of DVLA services, including vehicle registration, driver’s licence applications and renewals, roadworthiness inspections, ownership transfers, and other regulatory services.
The facility will significantly reduce the need for residents of Navrongo and surrounding districts to travel long distances to access DVLA services, making the licensing process more convenient and efficient.
The commissioning of the Navrongo office took place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, alongside the opening of another new DVLA office in Nalerigu. The exercise followed the commissioning of offices in Salaga and Yendi on July 13, while the opening of the Tumu office is scheduled to complete the expansion programme. A sod-cutting ceremony for a future DVLA office in Bole is also planned as part of the Authority’s continued growth strategy.
The expansion reflects the DVLA’s commitment to decentralising its operations and ensuring that quality licensing and vehicle registration services are accessible to people across the country.
With the addition of the Navrongo office, motorists and transport operators in the Upper East Region can now expect faster, more efficient, and customer-focused services, reinforcing the Authority’s mission of promoting safer roads and improving public service delivery nationwide.
