Thursday, 26th March 2026 — Accra, Ghana- The Chamba community has installed Hajj Ibrahim Hudu Malor as its new Paramount Chief in a colourful ceremony held at the Chamba Chief’s Palace in Nima 441, Accra.
The installation followed a meeting of key stakeholders, including the Kuta family, Bi Bwayaa (Chiefs), Bi Bwesele (Magajias), women leaders, and members of the Chamba Council of Chiefs, who unanimously endorsed Hajj Malor’s appointment. The kingmakers subsequently invited him to the palace and formally asked if he was prepared to lead the Chamba ethnic group in Ghana.

Sadauna Malor, as he is widely known, accepted the responsibility, stating that he could not overturn the will of Allah, which he believes is always for the greater good. In his acceptance speech, Ubwayaa Ibrahim Hudu Malor Kuta IV thanked Almighty Allah for the honour bestowed upon him. He also expressed deep appreciation to the Kuta family, chiefs, and kingmakers for recognizing him as the rightful successor to Ubwayaa Zakaria Tahir Kuta III Zorsimdinaa I
Chief Ibrahim Kuta IV called for unity among the Chamba people and offered prayers for Allah to grant the late Chief Kuta III *Jannatul Firdaus*. He urged all Chambas in Ghana—particularly chiefs installed during the reign of Zakaria Tahir Kuta III—to come together in the spirit of unity to promote the prosperity and development of their homeland, Chamba, in the Nanumba District of the Northern Region.

Chamba National Youth Chief, Umojabwe Hajj Abdul Samad Ibn Chambas welcomed the installation, noting that it fills the leadership vacuum created by the passing of the former chief. He expressed confidence that Ubwayaa Ibrahim Hudu Malor Kuta IV would build upon the legacy of his predecessor and lead the Chamba people to greater heights.
“Unity in Action, Progress in Mission,” he stated, adding, “Long live Chamba Ghana—united we stand.”
