Former Black Stars forward Richmond Boakye Yiadom has expressed his desire to return to the Ghana Premier League before bringing his playing career to an end.
The experienced forward says he would be open to joining either Asante Kotoko or Medeama SC, but admits a move to Kotoko would hold special significance because of his roots.
“I will be willing to play in the Ghana Premier League before I retire. I will either play for Asante Kotoko or Medeama SC,” Boakye Yiadom said.
“I would love to play for Kotoko because I’m an Asante boy and would be happy to play for a club that belongs to Otumfuo. I would also play for Medeama because I love their style of play.”
Boakye Yiadom, who has represented Ghana at international level, has enjoyed a career that has taken him across several clubs and leagues.
The forward now appears keen on ending his career in the domestic league, with Asante Kotoko and Medeama among his preferred destinations.
His comments could fuel speculation over a possible return to Ghana, particularly amid continued efforts by domestic clubs to attract experienced players.
A move to Asante Kotoko would see Boakye Yiadom fulfil his ambition of playing for one of Ghana’s biggest clubs, while a switch to Medeama would give him the opportunity to feature for a side whose playing philosophy he admires.
