The Atlas Lions finished well ahead of the continent’s other representatives, with Egypt ranking second after earning $17.5 million for their performance.
Seven African nations, including Ghana’s Black Stars, each received $13.5 million after reaching the knockout stage of the tournament. They are Senegal, Algeria, DR Congo, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Ghana.
Tunisia, who exited the competition in the group stage, earned $10.5 million.
