The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Oti Regional Office has held its End-of-First-Quarter Performance Review Meeting, aimed at assessing achievements, addressing operational challenges, and developing strategies to improve performance in the second quarter of 2026.
The meeting, held on June 4, 2026, at the NHIA Oti Regional Office Conference Room after being rescheduled from Prestige Hotel in Nkonya Ntumda, brought together Regional Management, District Managers, Accountants, Public Relations Officers, Scheme Operators, and staff from all seven district offices across the region.
Representatives from the Regional Office, Regional Accountant’s Department, Human Resource Unit, Public Relations Unit, and the district offices of Krachi West, Krachi East, Krachi Nchumuru, Nkwanta North, Nkwanta South, Kadjebi, and Jasikan presented reports on their first-quarter activities and performance.

Discussions centered on key performance indicators, membership registration and renewals, claims management, revenue mobilization, public education campaigns, and staff productivity. Participants highlighted successes achieved during the quarter while also identifying operational challenges affecting some districts.
A major focus of the meeting was the need to increase active membership, strengthen stakeholder engagement, improve data quality, enhance customer service delivery, and intensify public awareness campaigns on NHIA policies and programmes.
Addressing participants, Oti Regional Director, Mr. Julius Nelimor, praised NHIA Management for providing the resources needed for the successful implementation of the “Operation Storm the Market” initiative across the region. According to him, all districts benefited from the support, which significantly boosted the visibility and impact of the exercise.
Mr. Nelimor also noted that the provision of promotional materials and souvenirs would further support awareness creation under the Free Primary Healthcare (FPHC) programme, helping to educate more residents on available healthcare services and insurance benefits.
The Regional Director expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the review meeting and urged staff to implement the recommendations and action points agreed upon. He encouraged district offices to address identified gaps and adopt innovative measures to improve performance in the coming months.
He further revealed that April 2026 was among the region’s strongest-performing months in recent years, attributing the achievement to the dedication and hard work of staff at both the regional and district levels.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from management and staff to strengthen community engagement, deepen collaboration with stakeholders, improve monitoring of field operations, and intensify public education efforts to increase enrolment and renewals under the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Participants reaffirmed their determination to work collectively towards improving service delivery, expanding membership coverage, and ensuring that quality healthcare remains accessible to residents throughout the Oti Region.
