On Monday, July 21, 2025, the Northern Region Rugby Association (NRRA), under the Ghana Rugby Football Union, organized a special rugby training session at the Sagnarigu Chief Palace.
The event aimed to promote grassroots rugby development in the region, focusing on basic skills, teamwork, and the values of rugby. Led by Head Coach Hudu Musah, the session brought together young and aspiring rugby players, providing them with valuable training and guidance.

Although His Royal Highness, Ambassador Yakubu Abdulai, was unexpectedly called away, he demonstrated his support for the initiative by delegating his elders to represent him.
The elders warmly welcomed the NRRA team and expressed the Chief’s full support and blessings for the rugby development program. The NRRA extends its sincere appreciation to the Sagnarigu Palace for their hospitality and continued support for rugby development in the region.

This grassroots development initiative is part of the NRRA’s efforts to grow rugby in the Northern Region and nurture young talent.
The association remains committed to promoting the sport and its values, and looks forward to continued collaboration with local stakeholders and partners.
