The National Paralympic Committee (NPC-Ghana) and the Badminton Association of Ghana have jointly announced the appointment of Assistant Immigration Control Officer (AICO I), Richard Achore, as Media and Administrative Officer of the Ghana Para Badminton Association, effective May 19, 2025.
This strategic appointment comes at a pivotal moment, as Ghana intensifies preparations for the landmark 1st Open Para-Sport and Classification Festival 2025—a national campaign designed to reposition para-sport as a tool for inclusion, empowerment, and sporting excellence.
Mr. Achore’s journey into para-sport has been one of silent commitment and tireless advocacy. From his early days as a respected Top FM sports journalist to his service in Ghana’s Immigration Service, he has consistently amplified the voices of athletes with disabilities, offering visibility where silence once reigned.

His professional background in media and public service brings a dynamic mix of storytelling, structure, and stakeholder engagement that the para-sports movement urgently needs. His role is expected to bridge administrative gaps, strengthen institutional coordination, and significantly enhance the public image of Ghana’s para-athletes on both national and international platforms.
This appointment is more than recognition—it’s a rallying call. With the 2025 Festival on the horizon, Achore is set to lead a bold media campaign that celebrates resilience, documents classification efforts, and brings new energy to a sport that continues to inspire.
According to NPC Ghana leadership, his elevation symbolizes a renewed commitment to not just organizing para-sport—but telling its story with purpose, clarity, and national pride.
As Ghana opens its doors to athletes across the continent and beyond, Achore’s voice will be one of the strongest echoing the call: Para-sport is rising—and Ghana is ready.
