The NSS Completion Letter: What It Is
The NSS completion letter—sometimes called an attestation letter—is an official document from the National Service Authority confirming that you have successfully completed your mandatory one-year service .
It is distinct from the NSS Certificate. The certificate is the formal credential with a QR code and digital signature, used for job applications, public sector employment, scholarships, and visa applications. The completion or attestation letter is a supporting document that confirms the same fact, often issued faster and used when a certificate is not yet available or when an employer specifically requests an attestation.

How to Request the Completion/Attestation Letter
The process is similar to the certificate request:
Step 1: Log on to the official NSA portal at posting.gnsa.gov.gh .
Step 2: Navigate to the certificate or attestation request section.
Step 3: Enter your NSS number and personal details matching your registration records.
Step 4: Submit the request. You may receive confirmation by SMS or email.
Step 5: Follow the instructions for collection or download, depending on the option selected .
If the system cannot find your record, visit your regional NSS office with your Ghana Card and any NSS documents you have, such as your posting letter.
The Annual Evaluation Form: Your Certificate Depends on It
For the 2024/2025 service batch, the Annual Evaluation Form is not optional. The National Service Authority has stated clearly that personnel in this batch will only be able to access their e-certificates after submitting and getting approval for the Annual Evaluation Form .
The form has been uploaded to the NSA portal. You must download it, complete it, obtain the required endorsement from your place of posting, and submit it to your District National Service Office.
Without this form, the certificate download option will not appear on your dashboard.
The Monthly Report/Evaluation Form: The Allowance Lifeline
The monthly report form—also called the Monthly Evaluation Form—is the document that keeps your allowance flowing.
What It Requires
The form is divided into three parts :
Part I: Completed by the service person—name, NSS number, phone number, institution attended, course, signature, email.
Part II: Completed by the Supervising Officer—name of organization, supervisor’s name and contact, Ghana GPS address, reporting month, total working days, days at post, assessment of punctuality, attitude, and dressing. The supervisor must sign and stamp the form.
Part III: Completed by the District Director (NSS)—remarks, signature, stamp, and date.
A form that is not signed and stamped by the supervisor is invalid .
The Deadline
The monthly form must be submitted to the District Office of the National Service Authority between the 15th and 20th day of every month .
Failure to submit within this window means withholding of your allowance .
For the 2026/2027 service year, the NSA confirmed that monthly evaluation forms for the subvented category will be available on the portal from the 15th to the 20th of every month. For October 2026, the window was extended to October 25.
The Digital Shift for Teachers and Nurses
For 2025/2026 teachers and nurses, the NSA activated a dedicated portal for registration and monthly evaluation forms. Personnel in these categories were directed to register at posting.gnsa.gov.gh/get-started and download their Monthly Evaluation Form for January 2026, which was required for allowance processing .
