The Government of Ghana is taking significant steps to strengthen international cooperation in the areas of works, housing and water resources, following a high-level engagement between the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources and a delegation from the International Contractors Association of Korea (ICAK).
The meeting, held on Friday, July 31, 2026, was led by the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, together with the Deputy Minister, Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, and selected Heads of Agencies under the Ministry.

The discussions focused on exploring investment opportunities and forging strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating development across Ghana’s works, housing and water resources sectors.
Speaking during the engagement, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to building partnerships that will drive innovation, strengthen resilience and improve the quality of life for all Ghanaians.
The meeting highlighted the strong and growing bilateral relations between Ghana and South Korea, with both countries expressing optimism about expanding cooperation in key infrastructure sectors.

Through the proposed collaboration, Ghana is expected to benefit from Korean expertise, advanced technology and investment in critical areas including water infrastructure, affordable housing development, restoration of contaminated water bodies, urban renewal projects, flood control systems, sanitation infrastructure and public works.
The engagement forms part of the government’s broader strategy to attract international investment and technical expertise to address the country’s infrastructure challenges while promoting sustainable development.

Officials believe that partnering with the International Contractors Association of Korea will help unlock innovative solutions and support the successful delivery of transformative projects that will enhance livelihoods and contribute to Ghana’s long-term economic growth.
