Mrs. Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah, Chief Executive Officer of Star Assurance and President of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), has been sworn in as the newest member of the Board of Trustees of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).
She was officially sworn in by Hon. Kwasi Emmanuel Bedzrah, Chairman of the Board, during the Fund’s first board meeting of the year.
Mrs. Barfour-Awuah brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. She is a Chartered Insurer, holding the prestigious ACII qualification from the United Kingdom. Additionally, she possesses dual Master’s degrees in Finance and Accounting, as well as Management, from the University of Southampton.
Her appointment to the GETFund Board follows her election as the 12th President of the Ghana Insurers Association, an organization that has representation on the Fund’s governing board. She succeeds Mr. Seth Kobla Aklasi, who previously served in that capacity.
Her inclusion on the Board is expected to strengthen GETFund’s governance and contribute significantly to its mission of supporting education development across Ghana
