The Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade and Industry has paid a working visit to Atlantic Lifesciences Limited in the Greater Accra Region as part of its oversight responsibilities.
The visit aimed to familiarize members with the company’s operations and identify challenges affecting its productivity.
During an interaction with the committee, the Manager of the Quality Assurance Department, Mr. Smart Bediako, outlined some of the challenges facing the company. He noted the need for enhanced security measures, especially under the government’s proposed 24-hour economy initiative.

Mr. Bediako further appealed for government support to help the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) attain ML3 status for vaccine production and lot release.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze, commended the management of Atlantic Lifesciences for their contribution to the pharmaceutical industry.
He assured the company that the committee would engage the relevant authorities to address the concerns raised and create a more conducive environment for pharmaceutical production in Ghana.
