The Deputy Minister of Transport, Honourable Dorcas Affo-Toffey, paid a courtesy call on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to gain first-hand insight into the Authority’s operations.
Hon. Affo-Toffey was warmly received by the Chief Executive of DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, at the Authority’s head office.

During the visit, the Chief Executive briefed the Deputy Minister on several key policy initiatives.
These include the registration of excavators, the replacement of DP plates with DP stickers, the clearing of over 400,000 backlog licences and the launch of the National Community Outreach program.
Additionally, Mr. Kotey highlighted the launch of the DVLA Lorry Terminal Project, as well as the commissioning of several new DVLA offices including those at Adentan (24-hour office), Bole, Dormaa, Bechem and the Ultra Centre at Akwatia.
The Chief Executive also updated the Deputy Minister on the progress made towards introducing new vehicle licence plates.
Honourable Dorcas Affo-Toffey expressed her satisfaction with the initiatives undertaken by DVLA and commended the Chief Executive, management and staff for their dedicated efforts toward serving the public.

Her visits underscore the government’s renewed focus on transforming the transport sector to support national development and ensure the safety of all Ghanaians.
