A security analyst, Professor Kwesi Aning, has called on the government to publicly identify those responsible for the covert stockpile of counterfeit currency and suspected gold bars discovered in Sapeiman last week.
He emphasised that full transparency is essential to maintain public trust and prevent potential cover-ups. On Sunday, 9 February, national security operatives intercepted a large quantity of money, including counterfeit US dollars, Ghanaian cedi notes, and boxes of suspected gold bars.

The illicit items were concealed inside twelve 20-foot shipping containers. Acting on a tip-off, authorities raided a warehouse in Sarpeiman, Ga South Municipality, where the discovery was made.
