Team Mauritius have secured the bronze medal in the Team Relay event at the ongoing Africa AirBadminton Championships 2025, currently taking place at Laboma Beach in Accra, Ghana as also reported by Accra Street Journal
After topping Group C—which featured strong sides like Ghana, Egypt, and Togo—Mauritius had their sights set on reaching the final.
However, their journey was halted in the semi-final stage following a competitive clash with Egypt, who edged them out of title contention.
Refusing to leave empty-handed, Mauritius bounced back in the third-place playoff, defeating Benin with a score of 60–52 to claim the bronze.
The result marks a significant achievement for the team, especially after missing out on qualification for the inaugural BWF AirBadminton World Cup, which will take place in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from December 11–14, 2025.
