President John Dramani Mahama continues to enjoy strong public support, with a new Global InfoAnalytics tracking poll showing that 71% of Ghanaians approve of his performance in office.
The survey indicates an increase in the President’s approval rating from 67% recorded in March 2026 to 71% in June 2026, highlighting sustained confidence in his administration among a majority of citizens. According to the findings, 23% of respondents disapprove of his performance, while 6% expressed no opinion.
The poll also revealed significant regional variations in approval levels. Support for the President remains particularly strong in several regions, with some areas recording approval ratings above 75%. The highest support was reported in the Savannah Region, while the Ahafo Region recorded the lowest approval rating among the regions surveyed.
Despite the positive ratings, the survey identified a number of issues that continue to concern Ghanaians. Employment emerged as the top challenge facing the government, with many respondents expressing dissatisfaction with job creation efforts. Economic conditions, electricity supply, anti-corruption initiatives, and the fight against illegal mining also featured prominently among areas where citizens expect stronger action from the administration.
Analysts say the results reflect a mixed public assessment of the government. While many Ghanaians appear satisfied with the President’s overall leadership, there remains strong demand for tangible improvements in livelihoods and public services.
The latest findings suggest that President Mahama retains substantial political goodwill across the country. However, maintaining that support may depend on how effectively the government addresses concerns surrounding employment opportunities, economic growth, power supply, accountability, and environmental protection in the coming months.
