He stressed that discipline, togetherness, and collective progress were vital for the recognition and advancement of the Chamba people within Ghana’s broader traditional and national landscape.
“A Servant Accepting a Burden”
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Manaf Mohammed described the appointment as a call to service rather than a position of privilege.
“I stand before you today not as a man seeking title, but as a servant accepting a burden,” he stated.
He added that his greatest fulfilment would be helping the Paramount Chief unite Chamba people across Ghana and in the diaspora.
“If it pleases Allah that my final act on earth will be to help our Chief bring together all the people of Chamba — from Accra to Bimbilla, from villages to the diaspora — wherever we find ourselves, then I would have lived a fulfilled life,” he said.

“This Waziri title is not inheritance. It is trust. By Allah, I will not betray it,” he declared.
He concluded with a passionate appeal for unity among the Chamba people.
“Long live the Chief. Long live Ghana. Long live the Chamba Nation. Chamba Kimokikoli. Chamba Tilata.”
Traditional Role Explained
Also speaking at the event, the National Youth Chief of Chamba, , expressed excitement over the appointment and explained the traditional significance of the Waziri position.

“For me, Umojabwe Amb. Hajj Abdul Samad, our new Waziri, Alhaji Manaf Mohammed, holds the position of Chamba Prime Minister. So let it stand as such,” he stated.
The installation is expected to further strengthen unity, leadership coordination, and administrative organization within the Chamba Community of Ghana, both locally and internationally.
