The Chamba ethnic community gathered in high spirits on Saturday, November 22, 2025, to witness the installation of Alhaji Hudu Ibrahim Malo as the National Sadauna, also known as the Kumadan of the Chamba people.
The ceremony, held at the traditional palace of Chamba near Hotel Coffee Nima in Accra, was attended by community members from Oti, Nanumba, and Accra.
Paramount Chief of Chamba, _Zorsimdinaa Ubwayaa Amb. Zakaria Tahiru Kuta III_, presided over the installation and urged the newly-installed Sadauna to uphold the values of hard work and service to the community. He also charged sub-chiefs Bibwesele and Bibwayaa to “hold onto peace and unity, ensuring nothing divides us.”

In his inaugural speech, Alhaji Malo expressed gratitude to Allah and the community for the honor bestowed upon him. “I accepted this responsibility out of love for Chamba,” he said, calling on all Chamba, whether in Ghana or abroad, to unite behind the work of the Chief, sub-chiefs, Ulama, professionals, and the youth. He reflected on the foresight of their forefathers, who planned for the future, and urged the present generation to consider what the next hundred years will bring.
The National Youth Chief of Chamba, _Umoja Bwe Amb. Hajj Abdul Samad Said Ibn Chambas_, praised the installation, describing Alhaji Malo as a symbol of excellence, wisdom, and leadership for the Chamba people.

The occasion was marked with traditional music, dance, and a feast, reinforcing the bonds that tie the Chamba diaspora to their homeland. The installation of Alhaji Malo is seen as a reaffirmation of the community’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while looking ahead to a prosperous future.
The Chamba ethnic group, known for its rich traditions and strong communal ties, continues to play a vital role in Ghana’s cultural mosaic. The new Sadauna’s leadership is expected to further strengthen unity and development initiatives across the region.
