President John Dramani Mahama, together with the Minister for Works, Housing and Water, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has officially cut the sod for the construction of the Tema Integrated Industrial Park (TIIP), a major industrial project expected to accelerate Ghana’s economic transformation.

The sod-cutting ceremony marks the beginning of what government describes as a landmark initiative aimed at positioning Ghana as a leading manufacturing and industrial hub in West Africa.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei said the Tema Integrated Industrial Park is more than just an infrastructure project, describing it as a strategic investment that will drive manufacturing, create thousands of jobs, strengthen local value chains, attract both local and foreign investment, and support the government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda.

The project is being developed through a partnership between TDC Ghana Ltd, Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) and ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms, which will deliver world-class industrial infrastructure to support manufacturing, processing, logistics and export-oriented businesses.

Located within the Tema Heavy Industrial Area, the industrial park will provide modern facilities for manufacturers, processors and exporters while promoting value addition to Ghana’s natural resources, particularly in the aluminium sector. The project is also expected to enhance Ghana’s competitiveness under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by boosting industrial production and exports.
