The National Youth Chief of Chamba, Umojabwe Amb. Hajj Abdul Samad Ibn Chamba, accompanied by Chamba Ambassador Hajia Salma Adams Kuta and Ubwayaa Zakaria Kuta’s sister, Hajia Anti Ruga, visited Surinamese Ambassador H.E. Fidelia Grand Galon at her office. They expressed gratitude for her attendance at the late Chief Kuta’s Adua, appreciating her time and acknowledging the strong bond between Chamba and Suriname.

Ambassador Galon thanked the Chamba people, describing them as “very great people”. She shared the events that brought her to meet the Chamba Chief, expressing the Chief’s gratitude to Suriname. She also conveyed condolences from the Chamba Chief in Suriname, delivering a letter of condolences dated Wednesday, 11th March 2026, from Suriname Chamba Chief, Theo Palata, Da Akouman, and Chamba Jakaadi Naa, Kenrich Cairo.

The letter expressed “deep sorrow” on receiving news of the Chamba Paramount Chief’s passing, extending heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family, traditional council, and entire Chamba community in Ghana and worldwide. It prayed that “Allah forgive him, grant him mercy, and admit him into Jannatul Firdaus”, and wished strength and unity for the Chamba people during this difficult time.

The Ambassador also presented a donation for the Adua, as promised during the ceremony. She then gave the team a tour of the embassy, showcasing artifacts highlighting similarities between Suriname and Ghana.
